First Five with Joanne McNeil

{category_name}

Joanne McNeil is the editor of Rhizome. She was founding editor of The Tomorrow Museum, a collection of essays on technology, identity, and culture. Her writing has appeared in The Boston Globe, Frieze, n+1, and other web and print publications.

Here are Joanne's first five...

"I typically keep up on the news via weeklies and monthlies (LRB, Foreign Affairs, New Yorker etc) on my Kindle, but the first thing I do when I wake up is hit the "live radio" button on the BBC News iPhone app and stream for roughly an hour."

"The best thing about this site is there is a self-selecting user base so if you search for something like "drones," the results are vetted and almost always interesting. I save several things a day either to read later or use for research."

"Great selection of well written feature stories. I also like Longform and Longreads."

"Often the last site I visit for the day. I don't have a television or a Netflix subscription so lately most of my entertainment comes from the "free movies" list."
